We are always looking for volunteers to help with marketing, decorating, and planning, especially the week of prom! We're also looking for help spreading the word through passing out flyers and social media posts. If you're interested in helping out, please fill out the form.

OUR STORY

How we got started:

In 2016, a local high school told a young woman she could not take a girl to their prom as her date. Since then, a few local high schools followed suit, going as far as to cancel their proms. When they heard this, a local group of concerned citizens banded together to create East Texas' first Lavender Prom in 2017.

Since then, Lavender Prom has proudly grown in size and service area hosting between 82-98 LGBTQ+ students and their allies from all over East Texas and beyond. We are looking forward to continuing our growth and serve even more students in the future.

Silent Auction Recap

On Wednesday, December 15 at the Cottage Wine Bar (122 North Mound Street) we hosted a silent auction to raise money for the Lavender Prom 2022! We are so grateful to our donors and all of those who attended. A HUGE thank you to the Cottage Wine Bar Team for their help and support.

We raised over $5,000 to go directly toward this year's Lavender Prom.
