Qui Quarre, Poet

On June 17th, following the Nacogdoches Juneteenth Festival, we hosted Kenyan poet, Qui Qarre at the Old Tyler Road Cafe. The event was sponsored by Nacogdoches Arts Collaborative and the Friends of Nacogdoches Library. Ms. Qarre read some of her work and facilitated a discussion with the audience about racial relations. We appreciated all of the attendees and their willingness to participate in the discussion. Special thanks to Barrion Johnson for opening the cafe for us and serving some fabulous food.
